Meet Rebel
I've been a consultant for over twenty years now. I love what I do, and I've been blessed to work for some really amazing companies and executives. I've helped over 100 executive teams define and implement their go-to-market strategies. I'm grateful to every one of my clients for teaching me so much in our work together.
I leverage all that experience to help businesses grow. I'm best at creating growth strategies, positioning companies and products - and then powering them into the market. The majority of my experience is in technology - with both a B2B and consumer focus. Recently I've broadened my horizons into more mainstream markets, but I still love technology. I am a closet geek. Just ask my business associates.
When I'm not consulting with clients, I love to write - everything from articles and books to novels and dreams. In my blog, Phoenix Rising, I share my perspectives on the market, business, life and the pursuit. My friends tell me that it's all 'Rebel' - which I think is a good thing. I'm thrilled as can be to putting the finishing touches on my book, Defying Gravity, available in the fall of 2010. I'll share more about it in the spring. I'm so excited! I'm @rebelbrown on Twitter.
As a consultant, I've strategically positioned and/or launched vendors including EnterpriseLink, Fortel, FullTime Software, Integral Software, ILOG, Inc., Legato Systems, LexiQuest, Linux Networks, Silicon Graphics, OnDemand Software, NeXT, Xiotech and Verity. I've also worked with leading healthcare providers, small business consulting and services organizations. For the past couple of years I've focused in emerging markets around consumer gaming, virtual world and multimedia entertainment fields - what a blast that is! Avatar is just the beginning...
I've worked with US and European firms to fund and launch companies in both markets. I ran a consulting business from Paris for two years, bringing European start-ups to the US. That was so much fun!
I started out nearly thirty years ago as a sales representative for Burroughs, selling to the financial services and aerospace industry. I also sold mainframes against IBM for leading PCM vendors into these same verticals, and later sold software and networking services. I get sales and
In my personal life - I'm an avid horsewoman and expert skier. When I;m not riding or shooshing, I garden and tend an orchid greenhouse, hike the coastal mountains, Kayak the pacific ocean and write books and novels and blogs and more when I can't be playing in nature. My friends call me the Energizer Bunny - I can't imagine why!
